7.9 Release: New Features and Improvements

Version 7.9 of the Simple RFID Preview app is now available from the App Store and Play Store.

In this release, we've made introduced three new features:

Additionally, we've made some improvements to existing functionality:

  • TSL 1166 can now be set to 30 dBm for more scanning power
  • Fixed some bugs with scanning

Transfer Orders

We've added a new type of order for transferring items between locations. The process is very similar to creating sales orders, but now you can create an order from the mobile app, and add items to it by scanning them.

Instructions for creating and verifying a Transfer Order can be found here.

Raw Tags

Another feature we've added is the ability to scan a tag and see its raw EPC value. This is useful for troubleshooting tags that may have been encoded incorrectly, or not at all.

More details about how to use the Raw Tags feature can be found here.

Disable scanning unknown prefixes

For retailers that may be unintentionally picking up RFID tags in their scans that are not part of their inventory, we've added the ability to prevent the app from scanning any tags that do not belong to known prefixes in their inventory. The toggle is located in Settings within the app, called "Scan unknown prefixes". Turning off this setting will prevent these unknown tags from appearing in your scans.
