If print jobs you get stuck in pending, or if you cannot select the Start Print Job button, your controlling PC or printer is likely offline. This article covers the steps to troubleshooting these issues and getting your printer back online.
Step 1: Verify the Status of your PC and Printer
- Login to portal.simplerfid.com
- Open the Available Printers menu at the top-right of the page to see a list of your printers:
- Locate your printer in the list, and check that both the printer and the PC are online.
Potential issues
The PC is online, but the printer is offline:
- This is usually caused by one of two things:
- The printer is powered off - check that the printer is connected to power and switched on.
- The printer is disconnected from the PC - check that the USB or network connection to the printer is active.
The PC and printer are both offline:
- This means that the PC is unable to communicate with our print servers. Usually, this means that the PC has gone to sleep and is no longer actively communicating. Verify that the PC is powered on and has an active internet connection.
- If the PC is still offline, you will need to restart the print client. To do this, follow the steps in this support article: Restart Printing V2 Service
- To prevent this issue from occurring in the future, please Adjust the sleep settings of the PC.
